Defining discussion lists
A Listserv discussion group is an e-mail distribution list through which people can post and respond to messages pertaining to a particular topic. Listserv discussion groups are also referred to as “distribution lists” or just “lists.” Each Listserv list resides on a computer that receives and distributes the messages to all the subscribers.

Edit paldigital to be the name of the subscribed list. The %40 replaces the @ symbol in this example. You would put your e-mail username and institution name in that place. (e.g. sparker%40depauw.edu = firstname.lastname@example.org).
