Governance
PALNI supported libraries pay annual membership fees to PALNI, Inc. that cover the costs to operate and manage the PALNI Project and systems. No State funds are used to directly support the PALNI systems or organization. PALNI has received several grants over the years for specific program purposes. The latest to be received is a five year grant from the Lilly Endowment, Inc. in support of our PALSave program. This grant supports efforts to reduce the cost of textbooks and other educational materials to students.
Each institution is required to contribute knowledgeable staff to boards, advisory groups, and task forces through deep collaboration. Expertise developed by each library is returned through the ability to advance deeper skillsets and experience across the twenty-four libraries and reduce duplication of problem-solving, environmental scanning, strategic planning, and development. Investments made by each school in their staff come back twenty-four-fold through the work of advisory groups, task forces, one on one work, and conferences and through the coordination of PALNI staff.
